She made it, he sold it, and everyone bought it. - The Story of Magaret Keane

A piece of articles referring to the credit issues.

Artists being robbed of their credit has happened all over the world. Perhaps the most famous movie about this case is <Big Eyes(2014)>, based on the true story of Margaret Keane, a female American painter in the 1950s.

Keane(Top) was known for her unique style of painting large-eyed figures. Back then when women artists had little influences, her paintings were sold with her ex-husband Walter's signature on them. Of course the ownership of her paintings belonged to Walter. Keane fled to Hawaii, confessed on radio that she was the artist, sued for ownership, and revealed the truth by painting by herself in court.

This is one of the very few cases where the artists win their credit back. There are tons of artists who fail to claim their ownership, lose, or lose a lot even if they win.

Forgive my English, it is not my mother tongue and I used some translators

You've done well. Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately 90% of the time in this industry happens that the original artist never gets credits and the ones who steal it do.
