They said "Dieter took advantage of Thomas just for money." or "Nora had been gaslighting her husband." I thought they are exaggerating but it turned out to be true.

Lots of people said the same thing but they did not mean "rape" because it is serious. Yes it is manipulation and mental abuse but it's the sexual abuse that led Thomas to become very ill and sick not "gaslighting".
